Mike Green of Jonesboro takes 1^st Bird Hunting Tournament

February 6th & 7th slated for next event!

            Eighteen area bird hunters took to the field in

Greeneville, TN all with the same tasks in mind.  Prove to everyone that they were the best bird hunter on that given day.When the dust settle and the smoke cleared Mike Green of

Jonesboro made his mark.  Second place was a different story.  There was a three way tie for runner-up honors.

The tie was decided by a combination of a score card and skeet shooting.  Grady Hensley had 2 entries with the same score and a second entry of Mike Green’s along with Dennis Garber.  Mike Green’s entry was the first one out with a missed bird on the score card.  It came down to shooting.  Both Hensley and Garber stayed perfect thru the singles but Garber smoked the first pair of doubles.  Hensley only scored one hit on his first pair.  Which gave him no worse than 3^rd?  Hensley scored a clean pair of hits on the second round.  Garber did not.  Green took 90 points with his pointer Julie, Grady Hensley got 2^nd with his pointer Gomar and collected 72 points, Dennis Garber took 3^rd with a Setter named Annie and earned 54 points.  Grady Hensley also scored a 4th placefinish with his pointer Showgun for 36 points. And all other participates received 18 points.  These points will be given at each tournament and be used to name the “Bird Hunter of the Year”.

            November 7^th is the date of the next event.  Everyone is invited to enter.  The event is open to all breeds of dogs.  The deadline for entry is November 6^th at

7 p.m.
